Drums kits, Pearl and Tama

Of all musical instruments, drums kit has my attention the most. Of special interest is the Pearl brand.
I grew up with a bright red Pearl Export series drums. But Pearl seems to have stop that line of production.
Pearl Vision Birch VBX925F/C232 Drum Kit is one of the latest model that caught my fancy. This is probably so because of the similarity it has with the pearl Export series I grew up with.

Why the Brand?

I do not have anything against other brands as you will soon see.
Like I told you, the first drums kit that ever entered my town was that bright red pearl export. As at the time of writing, the Zidjian Scimitar hi-hat and cymbals that came with it are still being used on one of the run-off-the-mill drums we've got presently.
If the drums can outlive several other drums, the brand has gotten a plus from me.
You should note that, like Pearl discontinuing production of  Pearl Export Series drums, Zidjian has discontinued the production of Zidjian Scimitar. You can still get the new Zidjian ZBT cymbals and hi-hats ( they actually sound better than my good old Zidjian Scimitars)

 The Cost?

I must be blunt here, the cost may actually be on the high side, but Pearl drums are affordable.
You will not like to find yourself in the situation we found ourselves trying to pay less for more. The Pearl Export series drums kit I talked about has been in use since 1989, you have to believe it when I tell you it was replaced 2011 November. The drums bought 2011 now requires a complete overhauling. We are actually using the good old Zidjian Scimitar hi-hat and ride cymbals.
Won't you rather go for a one-time peaceful investment than a one-time-purchase-all-time-regret drums kit.
I have the twelve-year testimony to the quality of Pearl.

 What About the Drummer-Training Tama?

I do not have the same history with Tama as I have with Pearl. But let me share with you a love-at-first-sight story.

My first encounter with Tama drums kit. It was at a University Chapel.
I have to accompany a band during a rehearsal. On seeing the kit, I became too eager to get on the beautiful piece. That beautiful look is not the best part yet. After playing, I have to blurt out that "this drum is the drum. It does teach a drummer how to drum". That comment was due to the perfect sound coming from the well miked and well tuned Tama drums.

What do You Say?

Beat away and play away on the drums, get them miked if you wish. But I do say have a wonderful drumming experience.
